WHAT ARE THE UNSCC?

The U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps (USNSCC) is a non-profit youth program for Americans ages 10 through 17.

The USNSCC provides compelling, life-changing programs that instill the values of teamwork, discipline, camaraderie and service through our passionate, all-volunteer force and our partnership with our nation’s armed forces.

WHO WE ARE

USS Edson (DD-946) was a Forest-Sherman class destroyer of the United States Navy, built by Bath Iron Works in Maine in 1958. Her home port was Long Beach, California and she initially served in the Western Pacific/Far East, operating particularly in the Taiwan Strait off of the coast of Vietnam. Her exceptionally meritorious service in 1964 in the Gulf of Tonkin was recognized with the first of three Navy Unit Commendations.

WHAT WE DO

Edson Division Co. welcomes any young person who wants to learn about our military, are ambitious, self-disciplined, physically motivated, and have strong academic performance. Cadets must meet all eligibility requirements including application, parent/cadet interview, medical screening, and payment of required fees to the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps (USNSCC).
